"A special addition to the
KCHL Penang Paintball Cup was the competition’s sole foreign
team, Red Sevens from Singapore. Team captain Ben Seow, 29, said
that it was the team’s second paintball competition in Malaysia.
They had earlier competed at the MPOC 2007’s second leg in Kuala
Lumpur. Red Sevens, which is Singapore’s first paintball team,
was trying to learn and improve their skills in the sport so
that they could promote paintball in the island republic.
Red Sevens member Jane Koh, 27, who is also the president of the
Paintball Association of Singapore, said that paintball was an
exciting sport that helped to instill teamwork in players. “It
is usually seen as a dangerous sport but as long as everyone
abide by the safety rules, paintball can be something that
everyone can enjoy and benefit from,” she said.
Koh added that they hoped to work together with MPOC to bring
paintball tournaments to Singapore and that the collaboration
would also help to strengthen ties between the two neighbouring
countries. MPOC 2007 is endorsed by the Ministry of Youth and
Sports and Tourism Malaysia."
